Synonymous with social happenings of all kinds since its foundation in 1985, CBS Concert Band has become a musical cornerstone of the community in and around Nenagh. Around 400 students have passed through its ranks many of them going on to achieve greater things in music.
The band has played at countless community events especially St Patrick’s Day parades and Christmas Eve mass in St John’s church, taking part also in band competitions.
The Nenagh CBS band is inviting students from Nenagh and surrounds to join in this musical cornerstone of the local community. The band is run by a voluntary committee that works hard to keep costs and fees to a minimum. No previous musical experience is required to join.
The band’s main purpose is to provide students with an opportunity to become proficient musicians. The bands repertoire is wide and varied with a concentration on brass and woodwind sections. The CBS concert band will combine all of the challenges that students should be seeking i.e. self-discipline, leadership, creativity teamwork, fun and the opportunity to experience reward and a sense of pride that go along with musical achievement.
Recruitment is ongoing and is open to male and female students from 4th class upwards. The band meets on Wednesday evenings at the CBS Primary School. Contact 085 2379161 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Don’t forget to like our Facebook page to keep up to date with all the goings on.
